The aviation industry in Botswana is faced with challenges arising from a dire need for qualified aircraft maintenance technicians and artisans. Human resource in aviation continues to be in high demand as confirmed by Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) Report of 2016 which identified aircraft maintenance technicians as one of the priority occupational areas to be catered for. According to Vision 2036 document, Botswana will be developed into a regional transport corridor connecting people, goods and services with the rest of the world. This development will heighten the need for skilled personnel in the transport and logistics sector which includes aviation practitioners.
